If You Are Just Get Started, Don't Get Discouraged
Posted on 12 August 2016
I'm in Chicago right now sitting in a Starbucks. I spent the last few minutes checking emails and catching up on our Instagram messages.
This new Instagram update has really been big for us because now we can chat with the #BeeTeam even more than before.
We love getting the posts from people just getting started and are excited about their new sobriety! But we also love getting the posts from people who are down and depressed. When I first was getting sober, it was very hard. You are doubting yourself and you are confused and scared. That's okay!
To explain better, I'm not saying I love hearing about these insecurities because I like to see you in pain, but rather I know that if you are talking about it you have a much better chance of getting through it.
I think that no matter what, you need to communicate with people. You need to see other people do it and other people tell you that they can relate and that they have been there before.
That's why I am here telling you that I know how you feel. If you are scared and you are shaky and you are doubting yourself, it's okay! It's one day at a time, Don't give up and just remember that over time you will continue to get stronger and you will look back at these struggles and chuckle because you can see how far you have come!
If you need someone to talk to, give us a shout! We are here for you. We love you all and we believe in you.
Don't give up. Keep chipping away. One day at a time.

I’m still relatively new to recovery, celebrating 10 months clean today and it’s so great to know you guys are out there and that there are people outside of Dallas that are fighting the same demons as I am. Thank you so much for what you’re doing. Keep up the great work
