The Truth about Justin Bieber

Posted on 23 January 2014

Let me be honest here. I've enjoyed laughing about this just as much as any one else has today. I don't care if it makes me a bad person, this is just too fucking funny,

We can hate all we want, but the fact is, no one reading this looked as good as this dude in their mugshots.

***On that note, no you can't see my mugshot, and don't try looking for it on the internet because you wont find it.***

Ok but seriously, the more we laugh about it, the more it shows our insecurities. Over the course of the day we have all seen hundreds of comments about him being a douche bag and privileged and a druggie. The list goes on. The truth is, he is probably just a teenager, trying to figure out who he is, just like the rest of us were.

In reality, the more we laugh, the dumber we look. Imagine for a second. You are a 19 year old kid. You have the entire world watching your every move. Think about that... Just try to fathom what it would be like to have that much pressure and scrutiny on you at all times. When I was 19, I was struggling to graduate high school. I could hardly handle the pressure of making in through an entire Algebra class. I couldn't even pass Algebra. It is a tough age, for anyone. By the time I was 19 I had been arrested twice, one of which was an alcohol related arrest. I think about that, and I think of all the thousands of people who have been ridiculing Justin Bieber. I bet it makes us feel good. I bet it makes us believe that we are better than him.

The tough pill to swallow is that you are not better than him, and he is not better than you. We are all just people, trying to find our way in the world.

Only time will tell what will come of this. The sad part is that most of the time we see this fame and global spotlight has a really damaging effect on these kids. Off the top of my head I can name a dozen childhood stars who grew up to struggle with addiction. Hopefully this doesn't happen to the Bieber.

Next time you sit behind your computer and judge, or you pass your iPhone around talking shit, think about who you are. Are you so special that you have the right to judge? are you so much better that you never made a mistake? are you so perfect that you don't use the delete button? I doubt it. Cowards judge people. Cowards feel uplifted by putting other people down. Don't be a coward.

Personally, I hope Justin Bieber learns from it, and it makes him a better person. The rest of you can decide where to go from there.
