Josh Is Using His Recovery to Motivate Others! Great Story.
Posted on 08 November 2016
I am an addict named Josh. I'm from a very small town in Western MD called Grantsville. The only thing I knew growing up was breaking rules and not getting caught. Sports were my passion! I loved wrestling and football but also participated in baseball and even soccer in my youth.
Once I hit high school, drugs and partying was my form of "breaking rules." I was still excelling at sports so I pushed it farther until I found myself dependant and addicted to pain meds. Sports no longer was priority and by 11th grade I was stuck.
My disease of addiction quickly progressed to the point where I manipulated my own father into doing the same thing I was doing! With our addictions running side by side together we LOST EVERYTHING!
It blows my mind writing this remembering where we was and where we both are today! Sobriety has brought our family back together. Not only together but closer than ever! We do RECOVER!
Recovery is the single most important thing in my life! Without it I have nothing!
On a day to day basis I am recovering, but I am never cured. And without recovery, I'm a hopeless drug addict.
I apply recovery and the principles in all aspects of my life!
My passion is helping other addicts and alcoholics just like I was helped! As well as educating about addiction to break the stigma.
I am working on lots of things. The biggest thing right now is traveling with my father and doing motivational speaking!
Hands down the thing I am most proud of that sobriety has given me is my son Brody! My wife and Brody are without a doubt only possible because of getting sober.
If you are ever having a tough time, first pray and reach out to a close supporter of your sobriety. Then really evaluate whats going on and change whatever it is causing the struggle.
Majority of the time it is our own thinking!

I am very proud of you and the message you are spreading to others . If you can save 1 life you are making a difference, and it is very important that everyone finds their gift and purpose in life. The main thing in life is to stay in the light and use our gifts for the good of all. Bad things happen to good people but it is all a plan to lead you to the path you are meant to take. Stay strong and live long I believe in you. LOVE and Blessings !!!!! Yvonne Cuppett Massage Solutions & Holistic Wellness Center
Hi my name is Matthew and I’m an (recovering) addict. Just found an ad for New Lyfe, I am absolutely blown away I can’t think of a better way to keep my head in the game and let everybody know what time it is. Perfect blend of seriousness with just that bit of edge that will always be a part of our identity.
