Walking Dead Shatters Records

The premier of season 4 of the Walking Dead was one of the most watched hours of cable in the history of television. 16.1 million viewers tuned in to watch the season 4 premier of cables most watched show.
The Walking Dead's season four recently premiered to a record-setting audience. More than 16 million viewers tuned in to watch the season's first episode, which subsequently had more viewers in the 18 to 49 age demographic than any NFL game this season. It also topped every other show featured on AMC Networks , including the channel's two previous cash cows, Breaking Bad and Mad Men.
Even the highly anticipated series finale of Breaking Bad didn't measure up to the Dead season 4 premier.
The results for last nights episode are still coming in, but AMC is reporting 20 million viewers for episode 2. We will wait till the numbers are tallied, but if that is true, last night episode may just be the most watched hour of cable television in history.
That is... ridiculous.
