I Am Not Anonymous - Bringing Recovery Out of the Rooms

Posted on 11 December 2014

I came across this awesome site a few months back. I am not anonymous is a site in which the creators take black and white portraits of people in recovery, and publish their stories. It's a really great concept. I wanted to help get the word out about these guys because I think this idea will take off and create a lot of buzz in the community.

Instead of getting into too much detail, I think it makes more sense to let you check them out for yourselves. Here's a quick write up on their mission statement.

THERE ARE OVER 23 MILLION AMERICANS IN RECOVERY TODAY. RECOVERY IS REAL. IT’S TIME WE START TALKING ABOUT IT.

For years, those suffering from addiction have done so in silence as a result of the negative stigma surrounding it. The truth is, people DO recover. Our mission is to bring the SOLUTION into the conversation in hopes of helping the millions of people who remain untreated and help the world understand that addiction is not a moral failing. It is a powerful disease and the stigma associated with it is just as deadly as the disease itself.
